Well it is not something that goes on much nowadays is it (I hope not).
In less enlightened times people saw killing wild animals as a "sport" (some idiots still do today - including the royal family).
So I suppose after stalking and killing your prey you put its head on the wall to show how "brave" you were.
It is amazing nowadays to think that people went out and actualy stalked and killed tigers. It seems an outrage today.
I went to North Norfolk a year or so back, and did a little bird watching. In the lake NEXT to where we were bird watching they do have certain days of the year when they can shot certain birds.
What sort of enjoyment someone can get blasting a beautiful wild animal out of the sky with a gun is beyond me. Morons if you ask me.
Society changes over time. This practice was quite acceptable pre 70s. They didn't have computers to keep them amused in those days. Many taxi.. taxa.. taxu.. oh sh!t, animal mounters won't do any species that is even slightly endangered. There is no point to it, just as many present activities are a waste of time but we still do them. It is what makes us human.
