Window`s Live `One Care`

I have `Windows One Care` installed and now a window from them says I can update 1 file called `Safari` if I agree to accept. What I am wondering about is "What is Safari"? and as an `old geezer ` will it be of any advantage to me, and is it free? Hoping all this makes sense. TIA.

Safari is apples web browser its does the same job as internet explorer, if you don't already use it then don't bother.

in fact Knowing what apples update software is like it probably not even updating it, it's probably going to install it for the first time.

shy - how many security progs do you have running .....?
what exactly is the message

1c is the only product in the world worse than AVG - I think you need to look at what you've got running ... and see if you can do better

Acethe Troll, I very much appreciate your reply, and only wish someone with your knowledge could come and sort out my security. I`m not sure what I`ve got to tell the truth and I`m worried that if I uninstall it I will be attacked by the demons that exist amongst the `fibre optics`. I believe you once advised me to install `Avira` but I lost your post. Please advise again. TIA

The Safari install command arrives via Apples Itunes/Quicktime updater. Just switch off the update programme and you won't see it again.

the way to go is
download the progs ...
avg or AVIRA - spybot search and destroy, ad-aware and zone alarm
disconnect from internet
uninstall old
install new
reconnect

actually the latest avg reviews are quite good - so it's a toss up.

I'm out and about next couple of days (preston, manchester .... so going to bed - early start tomorrow)

post a question about security this weekend ... and the regulars will sort you out (you know you'll get 1000s of replies ... but you also know which ones to trust ... then it's time to decide .. and clear the clutter!
