I fondly recall a kit I had in around 1974 which made paperweights, keyrings, etc. It involved pouring a plasticy solution into a ceramic mould, adding a seashell or other 'adornment' and finishing with a coloured plasticy liquid which would become the base when the whole thing had 'set'. The name Plasticraft seems to ring a bell, but can't find anything via Google, so I'm hoping someone here can help me identify what this wonderful craft set was called!

We bought our two daughters the same sets & t was called Plasticraft. Perhaps you could try a Debenhams or John Lewis toy dept.? Good luck.
Whoops, I do mean we bought our daughters the same sets, way back in the seventies - not recently!

Thanks so much smudge, its great to have confirmation that I was on the right track!  I'm determined to hunt down one of these sets for a blast of nostalgia :)
That's okay flora. We have still got one that my husband & daughter made between them all those years ago. It's a round clear plasticraft thingy, with a little sea horse & a bit of sea weed inside. I'll always treasure it. Hope you find a set somewhere.

You are not mad florawales. My brother had one of those sets. Ah yes...hours of endless fun for all the family !! That plastic stuff used to stink the house out though !!

Smells are so nostalgic, aren't they! I smelled something similar to the chemicals in that kit recently, which is what led me to start searching for one after all these years :)
P.S. flora - if you do manage to locate one, would you please let us know as I'd like to buy a couple for the Grandchildren. Cheers!

If you would like to look on eBay and search on plasticraft, you will find one for sale in perfect condition except the tin of liquid plastic has gone completely hard.

Happy bidding!

Thanks carim00! I'll take a look. :)
I was the little girl on the lid of Plasticraft in about 1966.  I was also on the lid of Decimal Money.  That was the end of my modelling career.
