DVD to Ipod

Hi again folks

I'm lucky enough to own a 5th generation video Ipod and was wondering if anyone else has set about uploading any DVDs to their Ipod, and if so, how'd you do it .... do you have to download software, or anything else like that ...

Cause iPod can play only MP4 format video, DVD movie is MPEG-2 format, in order to put it on iPod, you have to rip your DVD movie to MP4 format.
