Is this a question or an answer? These characters are from Donna Leon's series set in Venice.

The question or should I say clue  is the the bit from Paola commissario Guido...

and the "P" means the answer is one word starting with P

What is the quiz that the question/clue is from? If you can explain I might be able to help. Paola does like reading Patrick O'Brian's novels but I don't suppose that is the answer.

The strange thing is the quiz is called nearest and dearest and most of the answers are couples or if theyre not the clue is one half and the answer is the other so this one sticks out a bit

All I can say is that it is definitely a one word answer. The other thing is that the p is in quote marks and none of the others are. Is there are Patrick O Brien novel thats starts with P I wonder. But what has the 127th or 128th time got to do with it. Sorry to the originally poster of this question I seem to be taking over but this seems to be the one that has us all stumped
