I live on the ground floor of a maisonette. Recently, I've been woken up by a tapping / thumping noise and I cant work out where its coming from. I can hear it in every room but its not distinct enough to pinpoint which direction it is coming from...It almost sounds like someone is throwing a tennis ball against the wall. I tried turning on the taps and heating but this doesnt help. Tried not using the water at night- no change. Would love to call a plumber but the noise usually comes on at 2am and lasts about an hour. Any ideas??
