awful story isnt it. People didnt even call 911 for help. surely they could at least have done that!

makes you wonder doesnt it. Fancy paying taxes all your life and just when you need the NHS no-one calls them for you! :)

even when I found that lifeless body in road I at least stopped and called 999 even though I didnt get out, hey it was middle of the night
I'm just heading for lunch in a sec, but let me say this;

Technology is out own worst enemy. Sure, we're sitting at this very moment interacting with people right across the UK (mostly) all day long, however, our society has developed a disgusting culture of ignoring what's at the end of our noses, yet all the time patting ourselves on the back for being so personable.

We have a tendency to turn a blind eye to people in need, whether it's because we don't care or because we can't be bothered getting involved or because we're afraid of the backlash on ourselves.

You know that guy that was killed in the supermarket yesterday? I don't know for certain, but I'm willing to bet that there was an argument before the fatal blow and everyone stood around not willing to step in and try to diffuse the situation before the devestating outcome happened.

They were scared to get involved.

I'm in a bit of a grump today, I'm going for food! LOL

I think BB have proved just that, no-one will stick up for anyone nowadays or even help. My car got hit outside work a couple of years ago now and some of the crews watched it end up in road. No-one came in and told me and it was left there for a few hours until I found it, when I asked them why they didnt come in they said 'it isnt my job to'
I suppose people either don't want to get involved or are wary of the consequences, if for instance, its an aggressive drunk or something.

Awful for the person in need.

Stroke victims can intially come across as drunks with slurred speech and gait and I'm sure would be ignored in this situation too

I'd take the consequences. I stopped a woman being being up as other people had watched her being kicked and punched and he became violent to me, but was worth seeing him arrested. Only reason I wish I hadnt is because she took him back
i think lakitu has a point, the way technology has advanced there is little need for getting up close to people.

But even if they were scared of getting involved why cant they call the emergency services for help, they can walk away as soon as the calls been made if they wish.
Exactly 4get, the BB muppets aren't getting involved because they perceive the backlash to be that they would be nominated and chucked out the house.

They fail to see that half of us are yelling at the TV for Alex to stop being so vicious and for one of them to stand up to her and we're thinking they're all spineless for not doing so, which is going to make us consider evicting them far more than if they spoke up.
