Just bought a camera.. fugi finepix a920 and i didnt know i had to BUY a memory card... surely to be able to use the camera it should have one in it already ? GRRR gonna cost me �29 now for it

shop around for a memory card.
Most cameras come with one but its usually only a small memory so youd have needed to buy one anyway

2gb would be fine for most people and would store about 400 photos, 4gb would obviously store twice as many

heres a chart of how many photos you can get on various cards, it only goes upto 8mb and your camera is 9mp but it'll give you an idea

We have that camera and have a 2GB fujifilm SD memory card. We have had near 200 photos and a few small film clips on there all at once and still had lots more memory left. I dont think we will ever fill it up as we regulary transfer pics to the computer and back them up and wipe the memory card ready for lots more. I believe we paid about �15 for the memory card from Curries.

You can use the camera in the meantime as you do have a small amount of space.

Can I just say thats a good choice btw. We bought ours ready for the arrival of our baby and have not been dissappointed at all. IT has many different modes to suit all sorts of environments but keep it on baby mode as we can take pics indoors without the flash.

I hate to say Pat but u may also have been ripped off camera wise as well.
H brought a Fugi professional about 2 years ago and he went to use it the other week to find it had gone up the wall.
It cost him �400 odd and it was a gift from his mum.
Fugi had put out a warning of certain cameras but his was not included in the list but it was showing the same problems as Fugi discribed.
Needless to say Fugi arn't interested unless he pays �150 to get it looked at and extra on top for what ever needs fixing.
Not getting one of those again.

no 4get but theres a lot of difference between sd crads regarding speed for photos sometimes a slightly nmore exsoensive one is better .
tho youd need to check with a techy .
do play deliver sd cards free as well as cds etc?

I paid 40 quid for a 5 gig camera and it holds about 24 pics with no memory card.

Why do you need to be able to store hundreds?
