Why can't people give sensible answers to questions asked, if they don't know then don't waste our time by giving stupid answers

I give sensible and silly, if the question has already been answered I will divulge in being silly, only in chatterbank and occasionally in motoring where some very funny posts beg for a tongue in cheek reply.

Look through all other questions and if i know answer then ok if i don't then i leave alone, after all i am retired and have little else to do

Sometimes the questions are silly and it is really hard to resist giving a silly reply!!!

I've just looked and that wasn't a silly answer, in fact I don't think I have ever seen VeryHelpfulGuy give a silly answer.

I've worked in IT support and you always have to assume that whoever you are giving advice to is stupid (no offense bob, I'm sure your not) until they prove otherwise, if you don't then you often miss the obvious.

The answer provided in Travel was not "stupid". It is hardly idiotic to suggest that the answer will exist on the websites of the businesses involved...

I don't always know whether to be cheeky or sensible. In the past I have replied how I've felt and been blasted for it, yet some ABERs are really horrible and cruel in their replies. I still think certain people rule the airwaves!! (probably be in trouble for THAT now!!
