Brexit. The Truth Is Finally Out.

I was given payee account and sort code details by Bank of Scotland, in order to make monthly payments to a loan I took out with that bank.
Through my Woolwich account, I set up standing order/internet banking to make regular monthly payments.
Out of curiosity I contacted Bank of Scotland regarding my loan, and discovered that I was using an incorrect reference number, which turned out to be one of Bank of Scotland's contact numbers. The payments I had been making was not being credited to my account as my reference number was incorrect.
I have requested both the Woolwich, and Bank of Scotland investigate and locate the missing payments, as the money must be banked somewhere.
Woolwich have notified me that as the error was not theirs they are not obliged to assist.
I still await Bank of Scotland's response.
How can I retrieve the missing money, so that it can be credited to my account?

So long as you can prove that you have been paying BOS, they should not have a problem finding the money. I am amazed that BOS has not written to you asking why you have not been paying if they haven't attributed it to your acount. For a bank not to contact you if you have not missed payments is very peculiar.
I would wait for BOS to respond. I would also contact Experian & Equifax o make sure that your CAIS iinformation is correct and that BOS have not put your acount as a default!
