anne frank and family managed it for years!

maybe they had help in the house they were subletting. No-one would bat an eyelid if one person did all the shopping, no one takes notice anymore.

makes you think though, luckily my loft is so full of junk theres no room

The refugees actually wanted to live in the house but when they saw the inhabitants, they opted for the loft as it was probably cleaner, better decorated and free from the peasant couple.
