I watched the programme through ordinary Virgin's Catch UP TV - everyone with a Virgin box has this feature - it shows programmes that have been on tv in the last 7 days.

I have a V+ box as well. Three tuners so you can record two channels and watch a third. It has a hard drive so the recordings are kept inside the box, but you can easily download them to dvd or video.
You can pause and rewind live tv, watch recordings from the beginning when the recording is only halfway through...

Very easy to use.
