No, I'm not one, but I imagine it is quite hard, especially with the introduction of the Avon website. Before the site, Avon products were only really accessible via an agent.

On the other hand, you can't really know the true colours or fragrances of items purchased from a site, so maybe you can make money from first clients or those not able to use the internet.
I tried being an avon rep a few years ago............it was hard, you have to pay an initial fee for brochures, free samples etc

Posting the booklets, and then getting them back was also a problem, knocking on doors etc

I think it depends on the area where you live, and if they are likely customers.

Its OK if its just a part time/bit of money in your pocket job, but to me it was more hassle than anything else

You might do better as an Ann Summers party organiser. They are fun too, but you probably need to be quite a confident and extrovert character.
i did Avon when i was still at school before going to college to learn a trade as makeup/beauty products have always been a factor in my life. yeah your field advisor tries to encourage you into meeting higher targets than you do by introducing promotional offers for your clients and reward systems for you as a rep but basically you will build up your own client base and will find selling methods/techniques on your own which suit you personally. stick to what you are comfortable with doing.

as for making a profit i thought it was great never having my commission payout below 50. i didnt spent too much time on it because of study timetables etc and i basically did my round of delivering the catalogues in one evening, x amount of days later i would spend another evening collecting the brochures/orders back in/payments/filling in my order book which was then ready to be sent to avon with the payment amount due. 2wks later the delivery arrived which i bagged up and delivered along with the new brochure. 3 evenings every 3-4wks was all i spent but if you were able to commit more time to it i reckon you could make a well reasonable amount of commission. summer is the ideal time to do it what with people stocking up for their hols etc
