I was shopping today and i heard a song which i think might have been from late nineties, early noughties?? It's bit obscure but it was a female singing:

Oh my god this has been doing my head in for at least an hour but i've finally got it. It was Sinead Quinn - I can't break down. She was runner up in the first series of Fame Acadamy i think, possibly being ousted by some unknown bloke!!!
