After spotting the theme, I've sailed through apart from

I think the answer is Vision ... i.e. a sense, and an unusually fair person could be described as a vision!

Thank you sarumite, I started this crossword very late in the date ( after a few vinos ) and was looking for some version of fair skinned - maybe an alternative spelling of aryan.
