What name is given for the flat marshy headland in Essex on the North Sea coast?

Would it be "the Naze" as in Walton-on-the-Naze?

Jules - I'm probably compeletely wrong, but could it be anything to do with Mersea in Essex? I know it's an Island, but the surrounding area is flat & mashy.
