Following on from Bob's thread, do you manage to eat your 5 a day???

I try to, like tonight I am having spag bol, I grate a carrot into the mince, to bump up the 5 a day!!!!

I think I eat too much fruit and veg. I love the stuff, and only eat fish or chicken with it. I love Spag Bol, but chicken mince is pure dregs. Eww

I don't like chicken mince either.

My fave mince is lamb!
Yes I get 5 a day
no I cant do 5 a day, twice a night is the most at the moment lol

I eat alot of veg, but hardly any fruit. Every day I have the following: -

1 x Multivitamin
1 x Vitamin C tablet
1 x Omega 3 Oil tablet

If you add grated carrot to a bolognaise it automatically becomes cottage pie.

No, as it cooks down and it not noticable in the spag bol sauce!

Spaced You must be feeling super healthy with all those vitamins!!!
Make sure though that the Vit C does push you over the limit with your multivitamin table.

Yeah, that's another thing, I never drink enough water!!

And when I do drink loads here at work, I cannot make it home in time to wee!!! When I get to my street, I pray nobody wants to talk to me as I am rushing, praying!!! Lol.
you need to grate at least 4 carrots into the mince.

But anyways, yes I do. I have two portions of fruit at breakfast (berries and apples). More at around now ( im eating papaya and melon at the moment). The I have two veg with dinner, and might have some peaches tonight. Thats sort of the same everyday.

Well i try to, i love my fruit and veg!

Had a banana this morning, will have 1/2 an advocado in my baguette today and then for dinner i usually get another two veg in.
if 5 a day can include

tea
coffee
cigarette
fry up
beer

then yes i do most regular

not really someddays all i eat is fruit and veg and then others just crap! i drink loads of water though
On and off really.

Don't really do breakfast most days and if really busy I sometimes don't catch lunch either (have bad tummy probs though so can actually feel better with not eating during the day).

Like freshly made soups for lunch if I do have it, a place across from work does gorgeous homemade fresh veg soups.

For tea we always have loads of veggies in everything and put extra stuff in things like bolognaise and curries to up the veggie count.

If I have dessert often have chopped banana and nuts and love apples and grapes and nuts and raisins.
I wonder if the 'five portions' is really valid, or just something cooked up (sorry!) by the government scientists.

I heard on the radio a couple of days ago that the US pundits reckon on seven portions, and the Japanese advocate nineteen, so who knows which, if indeed any, is right.

I do try to eat fruit and veg, but fail most days.

Oh well ...
1. Glass of fruit juice or smoothie with breakfast

2. banana chopped into my cereal

3. & 4. Orange and a pear for morning snack

5. & 6 Salad Sandwich and a apple or grapes for lunch

7 & 8 - 2 veg with dinner or in dinner

9. Strawberrys, Rhubarb, Pineapple or Fruit salad or something with pudd.

10. Raisins at some point during the day - usually afternoon snack or chucked into breakfast.

Easy to get 10 a day - never mind 5

Hubby and kids are pretty much the same - you don't want to see my bill for fruit and veg each week!!!
