2 isles flotantes?
Question Author
Hi cherry cherry thanks for the answer but what are isles flotantes? I have never heard of these.
Hi...having thought about it in greater depth, I don't think that my answer gets the 'pyramid' clue well enough.
Isles flotantes are peaked meringues floating on a soft dessert sauce such as creme anglaise and sometimes caramelised on the peaks to give them a firmer or even brittle texture at the top. That's why they made me think of pyramids, but now I reconsider then maybe my answer is too 'woffly'.
PS I also thought of 'sand cakes' for the Pyramids but I don't think that is precise enough either, and also Rose Pudding or Rose Creme for the Lancashire Reds. Good luck for your quiz.
PPS I am never sure how cryptic these quizzes are meant to be, otherwise I would suggest Baklava as the Greek pudding, ie to back-hand someone?...
