depends what benefits they are on. If it is income support then you are only allowed to earn �20.00 per week without it affecting the amount you get. Bearing in mind the minimum wage is around �5.50 this is mroe or less impossible.
If you work for 16 hours per week then the benefit will change to working family tax credits plus child tax credits. You are also entitled to receive some housing and council tax benefit and will generally be better off as there is also help with childcare.

there was a sort of single mother,, who was claiming housing benefit , from - borough of kingston ...and doing a lap dance job ....its mostly - self emp0loyed , lap dance work , mind you when found out , she was ordered to pay �16,ooo ....back to kingston council .... it was refered to crown court ....
