Is there some kind of meaning to that? You know, like the whole magpie "One for sorrow, two for joy" lark?
Hope so :) Enjoy your eggs x

Best yoke I've heard for a while
I have seen this twice, once was years ago and then when i worked on a cob van i had one!
I buy free range eggs and had 6 out of
6 double yolkers ...the next lot I bought
the first one was a triple yolk ...I buy them
from a man around the corner who has
them in his garden so they are really fresh
free range .....
Question Author
these were Asdas free range eggs and they were even in the sales too ! lol what a bargin :)

billy theres smmut fishy about you, are u a regular??
it's rare, but double yolks do happen.

If left they will almost never hatch successfully as the unborn chicks will fight in the egg and kill each other

although even rarer you can get eggs with no yolk at all. now wouldn't you be gutted to get one of those for a fry up:)
I was making meringues last week and all 6 eggs that I used were double yolked.
Question Author
hey chuck, thanks for the info, i would actually be really shocked if there was no yolk ... tbh i dont even like yolks (unless its properly cooked or its scrrambled) so i would be quite happy with out one, but when i saw the two... i thought wow.... :D

then again i would take it back to Asda and complain that my egg didnt have a yolk! lol
I think it's actually the yolk sac that gives the developing chick its nutrition. The yolk doesn't develop into the chick.
