CD ROM in CPU!
3 Answers
My son managed to post a small CD ROM into the CPU tonight, the PC works fine, but can't help but think it shouldn't stay there, any thoughts (other than don't let 4 year olds play with computers!!!)

Has he just shoved it in through an air vent or has he stuck it into something like the floppy drive? (you did say small CD) If he's just shoved it in the case undo the screws take the top/side off and remove it, it could be blocking air vents or interfering with the fan or some otherway disrupting airflow. If it is there's a fair chance it'll overheat the processor and cost you money.
Don't be scared of opening the case just leave the plug in the wall but with the switch off and always keep hold of a metal part of the case to keep it earthed (99% of the time it's not necessary but the 1 time you didn't you'd probably cause a static discharge & melt the processor).
