Hiya, ray and everyone else!! It's so nice to read all your posts - we've had our fair share of dramas here lately (did you see my post on saving a life a couple of days ago?). The swallows have fledged & are flying well now and there are young siskins on the niger seed feeder with their parents. Even my old crow and his mate have taken to bringing their youngsters down to the feeding station, to clear up the dropped bits from the ground. They don't seem to bother the smaller birds, so I'll let them be, for now. We've got a jay, too, and a family of greater spotted woodpeckers who turn up every morning with their young. The blue, coal and great tits are all doing well, babies fledged and making a heck of a racket in the ash tree where the peanut feeder is!! And there's a young nuthatch too and a really cheeky juvenile robin who seems to have taken over the "patch" from the adults. I hear barn & tawny owls at night, but I've not usually up too late during the week, so haven't seen them yet. K xxx
