i went to a rural area to visit the husband of a dear friend that died , it took me ages to visit because i know that he talked about her i would cry , when i got there he had gone away for a few days , and ninety year old neighbour came out to tell me , she was as fit as a fiddle , walked me off my feet , showed me her bungalow ,big garden that she maintained herself , told me about a bad fall she had at eighty five , that broke her cheekbone , broke two of her full set of teeth , she was then going to mow two lawns .i was knackered .

Psychick....a 'walk-up' is an upper storey flat accessable only by stairs...hence-you walk up......... shanx- My mum was very lively in her old age,.......she took up painting in her 70's,washed everything by hand when her washing machine broke down-didn't want a new one-cooked every night, gardened, baked her own bread, never took any help from anyone......and ALWAYS had a lovely smile on her face.......all til she was 86.

My grandparents make me howl with laughter, both in their 80s and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at the weekend. Gramps gets up at 5.30 and does his exercises and then goes for jog (wtf?!!!), they have a better social life than me and at the party at the weekend, I was knackered and they kept going. But they had to go at 9pm cos they needed to be up early "to help the old people up the road"! (they help with their garden and shopping!) ffs, in their 80s and they still don't consider themselves old!!
