I think pulling the advert was a mistake as it's now giving out the message that two men kissing is morally wrong.

It was a very relectant kiss on the part of the British dad - they obviously are not supposed to be a 'gay' couple family.

Kids watch women fighting on the street (Coronation Street), violent murders (Coronation Street and Eastenders), underage pregnancies (Coronation Street) and crimes such as joyriding on soaps and the parents don't bat an eyelid.

Andy, I absolutely agree with you about fcuk and refuse to buy any of their products. But I had no problems with the Heinz ad. Nobody asked me why men were kissing, but like others I thought the message was that using Heinz would make a Mum as good a cook as a male chef... a daft message but not one I'd have too much trouble explaining to a child.

But regardless of whether they were gay or not, wouldn't this have been a good opportunity to explain to your grand-daughter that men do kiss sometimes? 12 seems a reasonable age to find out.

what about all the adverts you get for xbox and the like and films of people murdering and fighting why is that ok but a light hearted advert not? pc brigade ought to be shot, and why when 200 people dislike it was it taken off and not the thousands of people who do like it was it not kept on???? mad world

Made me puke every time it came on. I don't mind gays kissing, but do it so I can't see OK!

If it had been a peck on the ckeek, well it would have been funny, but this was just too much.

I agree with jno - although s/he put it much better than me :-)

It was discussed on tv this morning that as Heinz are marketted towards traditional families (I assume they mean mum, dad, two kids and a dog like the cereal adverts) that they removed the advert once complaints had been received because they do not want to alienate their customers. Maybe they don't want to sell soup to lesbians.
