Gearbox Whining Impreza wrx import

I have a 1994 impreza wrx turbo. gearbox whines going back down the gears i.e. engine braking and clutch judders when it gets hot after a good run

If it whines in all gears when engine braking then it is most likely the diff bearings that are at fault,check the gearbox oil it may be worth changing it if you dont know when it was last (if ever) done
In my limited experiance with these a judder when pulling away could be a leak on the inlet manifold, an exhaust leak before the lamda probe or plugs/ leads or it could be a clutch judder, easiest way to do a clutch is to remove the radiator and pull the engine forwards, you need to take the studs out of the bell houseing and not just remove the nuts, space is still limited but it is quicker and easier
