Hi Last night I had an accident with another car. The other party was at fault. The police have asked me and other party to produce documents of my car insurance, driving license, and the MOT certificate. As I found my details I realized that my MOT certificate had expired. Just wanted to ask if I will get fine and how much and also will I get any points.

Good question, why were police involved. No need for them if noone is injured.

I have had two write offs, not my fault, and got paid in full with compo etc.

On both occasions I had no MOT. I presume that as the insurance was vaild the assumption is that an MOT must have been in force at the renewal time.

Tell them you cant find it. Tax and Insurance should be enough for them.
The police will be able to find out your MOT has expired - I believe it is a fixed penalty and no poits on your licence.

Any insurance payout would be based on a car like yours with no MOT
Maximum fine 1000. Usually less than 100.
