Parking Controlled Zones

What would you say is a reasonable distance expected for a person to see a PCZ from where they park their car? I have just received a ticket for parking in a PCZ when i was parked 8 lamposts down from the sign, with no repeat sign anywhere in sight. I feel that if I could not see the sign then how was I to know that it was a PCZ! Also I have a Disibility Badge, providing me with parking privilages in PCZs, which was displayed.

Usually there are huge signs warning you that you are entering a PCZ - the point of this is that it negates the need for regular signage.

Where exactly were you parked?
In a proper parking bay, in a loading only zone, on a clearway, a taxi rank...?

I was parked on a single yellow line, but with my blue badge, which means i was legal. And there was not a big sign but a small sgn about the size of an A5 piece of paper.

If you were less than three hours you were parked legally.

Write to them with a photocopy of both sides of your badge.

Usually the huge signs are on the entrance points to the PCZ with smaller ones now and again.
