I know this has been discussed before but how does my cat know at any time of the day or night where I am?
He knows the sound of my car -he's there as I park -yet when I appear in my pals car he is no-where to be seen !!
Furthermore why does he have the patience to sit patiently until I move -then I get grief?
Furthermore- why cant I find it in my heart to plant flowers in my half barrel in the garden cos Buddy sometimes sleeps there
Finally -when I emptied my paper rack - to give to my pal -and left a hard backed road atlas on his seat (the recliner no less-with his own blanket)-has he insisted on sleeping for 3 nights on a hardback book?
Cats -dont ya just love em lol
BTW -that was just a week into the life of Buddy !!!

My son has to get up at 5am each day and the old cat leaves him alone but as soon as he's up she comes and yells at me to get up too. She knows he will feed her but she likes both of us to be dancing attendance on her. And yes I've had to leave things where they are because one of the cats has taken a shine to sleeping there.
when i was a child in the late 1950s, i lived on the 5th floor of a house, my father was a postman on shift work and our cat always new about 10-15 mins beforehand when he was due home whatever time of day ,no car to listen for , we couldnt afford one..
She also met me from school twice a day and followed me home...

Actually on a sadder note some former neighbours of mine had a cat which used to follow the husband around and wait for him to come home from work - he always knew when this man would be home. Unfortunately the man died very suddenly and the cat waited for a few days for him then disappeared completely. We always said he went away and died of a broken heart, poor love.
Oh, yes - I've always believed that cats have a sixth sense! My old cat used to know when I was coming home - even when I was on holiday and my neighbour used to feed her for me, she told me that on the day when I was due home, the cat wouldn't budge from the windowsill - she was waiting for me. When I was young, we had a little black cat and she knew when my dad was coming home from work and used to go to the end of our road to wait for him. He used to go to work by bus, so we couldn't say she waited for the sound of his car. Now, I've got 5 of the little darlings, but one, Cassie and I seem to have a psychic bond - I just have to will her to come home when she's out and she does. I don't even have to call her, she knows.
Thanks everyone -aww bensmum -thats so sad -I often worry with Buddy cos when he sees me he just darts across the road -its not hat busy but...........
I just love Buddy and all cats -they are so bloody independent but at the same to so obtuse -plus as everyone has said -have a sixth sense -spooky !!!!

My little Monty is in "hospital" at the moment (see my post "Cystitis in Male Cats" to explain) and last night, his sister, Cleo was looking everywhere for him. Normally, both of them and Cassie sleep on the bed with me and little Cleo was so upset last night, she checked under the bed, in the wardrobe, everywhere, for her brother. She's been looking for him again today - how can I explain to her that he'll be coming home on Thursday? I can imagine what a welcome he'll get from her (they adore each other)!!
