I was in the army with dogs and this is how we treated puncture wounds, I also live on a farm and minor injuries like this we treat ourselves, unless you are really worried and/or the wound is hot I personally wouldn't go to the vets with this, again I say if you are really worried then of course go, I have experience so I wouldn't.
Vetzyme is quite good and not too severe, just keep the wound clean, wound powder is good because it seeps down inside the puncture whereas if you use creams they just sit on the top, and if it heals over at the top then there is a danger of infection building up underneath so this is the reason to keep gently squeezing the muck out until the wound bleeds clean blood, then apply the powder, hope your cat is ok soon, let us know what happens.
I always keep a supply of Cut-Heal, which comes in either aerosol or with a dab on sponge applicator and it heals from the inside out. You literally spray it into the wound and the new flesh grows up leaving no scarring. It is useful if the wound is in a place that is difficult to wash out. You can get it from most horse supply sites.
