why to i have to keep restarting my computer to get the internet to work?

my laptop has recently stopped letting me connect to the internet after it's been running for about half an hour, so i have to restart it to get it back. When i check my wireless connection the signal is still at a good strength (local and internet) so it has nothing to do with the modem. I am running with Vista not sure if this makes a difference? can anyone help? pleeeaassee

HI 4candles sorry to be a bit dumb, but Zone alarm??? i haven't changed anything on my laptop, or added anything new, it was all ok til about a week ago wen it decided to stop working properly.

On my laptop I have a switch to disconnect from the internet, does yours and which make of laptop is it?

Switch my have been switch off be accident.

Hi moranclan , mine isn't very many months old and I've added nothing to it and yet I find I have to restart mine after an hour or so because it suddenly refuses to open any pages or links .

If you don't have the Zone Alarm firewall, then obviously there's a problem elsewhere, and I wouldn't like to hazard a guess where.

I just mentioned it because in the question I gave the link to, Buddy Holly had the same symptoms, as had I, and the problem was a setting in the firewall options.

Hi May57, no switch to switch off internet on my laptop, and the laptop is a Gateway,
Thanx 4candles checked out that link you sent and it kinda went over my head, but went through my firewall settings and all outbound settings were allowed?? but couldn't find no Zone Alarm, so prob not that :-(
