Can you travel to antigua with a suspended sentance
I am going on holiday to antigua in 6 months it is all booked but my boyfriend has been given a suspended sentance.... can he still go abroad or do i have to cancxel the holiday????

No there are certain countries where visa restrictions will stop you entering with a suspended sentence.
Remember this is a new conviction is not yet spent under the rehabilitation of offenders act.
If your convicted of Drugs,Firearms,Terrorism,Kidnapping, Child Offences, plus a whole host of other serious crimes you could be barred entry.

The USA does have instant access to criminal records in the UK.
You could be a convicted terrorist trying to enter the USA on a holiday visa, your telling me that ticking a box that says "no" is going to allow you access to the states ?
If you fill out your form on the plane and say that you have no convictions, you face deportation as soon as you land if the US customs check the UK PNC computer.
If in doub't contact the USA embassy in London for futher advice...

US customs do not have access - certainly not the guys who check your luggage
US immigration might - but it will be from a back office and only after you have otherwise aroused their suspicion.
And it won't be instant - they are going to have to apply, formally, for access, through official channels. It will take hours if not days.

NO I am sorry to say that is not correct : Since 9/11 the US goverment has been sent details nearly everyday on people convicted in the UK, or people being watched and followed.
MI6 and some departments in MI5 share info with the FBI, NSA and Homeland Security.
Your passport is flaged as soon as your name is placed on a flight passenger list.
With internet access to the UK PNC the USA can check on-line within seconds if not minutes.
Remember your passport contains details about your age,DOB and place of birth.

Don't kid yourself, as soon as you get a criminal record your on a computer for life, and as soon as your DNA is taken thats held for life as well.

You have been deported from the US
You have overstayed during a previous visit
If you are unsure, or if you think that your situation falls into any of the above categories, you should consult the US Embassy (see above) � you must do this well in advance of any plans to travel.

I have entered the USA 3 times in the past 12 months. I have a conviction you claim is on the short list. No trouble getting in.
As the USA is making it compulsory for travellers to give US immigration ALL personal details from Jan 09 (19 pieces of Info) before you even leave your own land and are not guilty of any crime.
We should make all US citizens coming to the UK have a Visa.
