I've got a wildlife friendly garden but nowadays see very few bees and butterflies. This situation seems to have got worse in recent years. Anyone else seeing a similar trend?

Hmmm, i believe its because more and more people are using insecticides.
But i pernally think its because the bees have found a better garden than yours, and without the bees there, the butterflies wont come anywhere near...
I have to say, my garden is full of bees and butterflies. There seem to more every year. Lovely they are too.
brian got plenty of bees coming into my airvent, what bothers me not any wasps i hate them with a passion but for some strange reason miss them!!!
I have hundreds of bees and quite a few butterflies - although not seen so many this year. In fact I am thinking I am going to have to cut the ceonanthus by the front door back because i can't get near the front door for bees!!!
I try to plant bee friendly plants. I've got philadelphus, tons of grannies bonnets, rhododendrons, thyme and I've left a few buttercups for a splash of yellow.
