Here, here Bez. With respect to the people of Liverpool, I know for a fact that they aren't ALL bad - as with anywhere else.
The problem DOES lie with today's parents and grandparents, who, for some unknown reason seem to think that you can just have children and then that's the job done. Was it something from the 60's and 70's which suddenly made people forego parental responsibility? I know that if I ever have grandchildren, and see them being disrespectful or ill mannered, I'd soon haul my kids in, and demand to know why - and what they were going to do about it.

It's a terrible problem that needs sorting out quickly, but I see no one in government with any backbone.
Babies which are neglected or abused, should be taken away from their parents, and given to the thousands of GOOD people out there who maybe can't have any of their own. Then the slobs of parents should be forcibly sterilized.

As Bez so eruditely says, it's all down to the parents. It doesn't matter a jot if schools and governments don't supply the right environment. Parents have the duty to supply morals and respect into their children.

Yes, you're right Eric - but of course, if the parents are unable to supply the very basics of bringing their children up properly, then I really believe that schools should incorporate good parenting classes with a strict code of being respectful and caring.

Yes bez, I know what you mean. I don't care HOW old a person's child is. If they don't act in a decent manner, then parents should say something, and show their displeasure.

I agree, leggy. The police in Tenerife have the right idea. They don't mess about, do they!!! Give the guys the same power here, and get rid of the riff raff, whether it's from towns or the countryside - because believe me, you get this sort of behaviour everywhere nowadays. The press doesn't help, either. They show pics of Amy Winehouse, etc., falling out of clubs, drunk or with their eyes hanging out of their skulls, and it's almost as if they're treated as god-like. bang them up - not just for a short spell, but for years. Give them time to reflect on what they've done.
