registration to this site

Help please. I have just tried to register my friend to this site, but it wouldn't let me register them. After numerous attempts at a username we were then told that the e-mail site was already in use. Does that mean my friend has to change thier e-mail address? Or have I done something wrong?

There's been a lot of bugs recently on this site, probably something to do with that.
