I want to walk into the sea in August.

I am hoping to find a seaside resort (apart from Benidorm) that would be cheap and near enough a beach for me to just walk down to the sea in the morning. I do not mind gravelly beaches or ones with rounded stones, just so long as I can manage to walk in bare feet. Can anyone make any suggestions? My partner would like to be near somewhere with bars. How warm is the sea off Poland near Gdansk in August?

I understand that there is a resort with sandy beaches near Gdansk, called Sopot. I dare say there is nothing wrong with Benedorm, I was hoping for some more adventurous suggestions.

Greek islands specialise in that sort of thing. Warmer than the Baltic, generally

Have you tried looking at Google earth? You should be able to check out any likely spots by looking how far from the hotel to the beach etc.
