Monty came home from the vet's last night & initially was very pleased to see me. When I got him home, though, he wouldn't eat anything and just curled up on the sofa & went to sleep. His sister, Cleo was horrid to him (but you'd know about that, wouldn't you, the trouble you have with Merlin?). I'm more than a bit worried about wee Monty, as he still hasn't eaten anything and just sleeps all the time. He's a bit unsteady on his back legs as well. I haven't let him out, except for a couple of minutes this evening, but he was so unsteady and appeared disorientated, that I brought him in again. I've told the vet, but all she says is to put him back on meloxicam. I'm hoping he'll improve in a day or two - perhaps it's just the change from being "in hospital" and now at home. He finished his diazepam on Monday and I'm wondering if it might be the "come down" effect from that. If anyone has any ideas, Monty and I would be very grateful. I'm normally quite switched on when it comes to my animals, but this has me stumped!! Love to you and Merlin, K (and Monty!!)
Hi, wolf..!! Belated happy birthday to Frankie & Merlin!
Monty is definately out of sorts - I think he's depressed, too. Trouble is, because I've been away this week at business meetings & stuff, he's had to stay at the vets' to have all his medication 'cos K. Jnr has enough to cope with when I'm not here, what with the other cats, the dogs and the livestock (we've got a couple of baby chicks as well - cute!). They said he'd been fine when I collected him yesterday - everything was normal and he was eating ok. I'm hoping that now I'm home & we get back into the usual routine, he'll perk up over the weekend. I'm going to let him out tomorrow for a little while and see how he gets on. I'll keep an eye on him, though, as I don't want him wandering off when he's not well. K

his routines all upset at the moment, cats really dont like it if something happens that isnt in their usual plan of action for the day, even moving a bit of furniture that they are used to seeing in the same place can throw them. give monty plenty of tlc and a bit of time and peace from cleo if possible, her routines thrown too with monty being back and he'll smell different too to her. hopefully he'll be back to his usual happy self especially when he realises he's not going to be left in the vets again. " hurry up and get well monty we'l be throwing you a carty soon,..cupar and margo.."
