Can a 16 year old join the army? and if they sign up at what point can they change their mind and leave?

They can sign up but only with parental consent before 17.

They can pretty much leave anytime they want nowadays. May have to pay some training fees back if they take specialist courses and being AWOL is a criminal offence.
