Reduced flow on Hot and Cold Taps.

Have just had a new bathroom fitted in and the flow of the hot and cold bath taps is now greatly reduced. The hot isn't too bad, but the cold is almost a trickle! The original bath taps were much bigger and the pipes supplying them were fairly wide and the water gushed out! Now we have quite a small mixer tap and the water supplying them runs through a kind of reinforced garden hose! Have had a word with the plumber and he has blamed the mixer taps, the supply from the tank etc. Any ideas as to how the problem can be rectified? Many thanks.

The hoses you refur to are flexie conections, the inner pipe is rubber and only about 10 mm inside diameter, make sure these are not kinked or twisted as this can happen when there are connected, also you may have had a low pressure tap /taps fitted ?
It sounds like the plumber has incorectly installed a mixer tap that is not suitable for a low pressure / gravty fed system, he should not have changed the pipe diameter to the taps either and by installing flexible connectors just smacks of DIY and not professionalism. I hope he has correctly installed the service valves and double check valves to the mixer tap.
