Eagles Nest
I am going to be in Salzburg for a few days in June and have read weather permitting we can make it to Eagles Nest from there. It would be better to book in advance that I just wondered if anyone had booked this trip online and if so who did they book with? many thanks

Just in case anyone searches for info on this - I know it's too late for Joannie - I visited the Eagle's Nest (Kehlsteinhaus) fom Salzburg last week. A bus from the Rathaus bus stop by the river took us to Berchtesgaden for Euros 8.50 (return, each), then another bus took us to what they call the "Dokumentation" stop for the mountain itself for 3 Euros (single). Admission to the Kehsteinhaus itself, including the special bus and lift was 15 Euros. So total cost was 20.50 less than the price of the escorted trip, which leaves from Mirabellplatz at 9 am and which can be pre-booked for 50 Euros.
thanks for taking the time to respond Tom. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to the Kehlsteinhaus but did book through and agency. Again just for others reference we used the following. www. eagles-nest-tours.com. We were staying in Salzburg and had purchased Salzburg card. As we were going into Germany we had to pay 80 cents for the bus from Salzburg to Berchtesgaden. The bus stopped right opposite the tourist office where we were to meet out coach. The guide was fantastic, she was an American who had lived in Germany for 20 years and previously did the tours for the Military. Obviously this cost us more 45 euros but if someone wants a guided tour I recommend them. We did not go so early and I felt this was better. Just giving another option.
