they think you can get 27-48 out of a 1.4 but it all depends on your right foot & where you're driving it,
the 1.2 is 35 - 56 - but my new corsa d 1.2 has a job to get anywhere near what they say (36 - 60) the best i have got is 41 mpg & thats some motorway miles included i am trying to slow down a bit, but there is a bit of a hill on the M2,
now the 1 litre version corsa c is about the same pick up speed as the new 1.2 & i can get 44 mpg outta the I litre & thats on the same trip to work & pushing it rather hard,
so you see its all about your style of driving,
as for the diesel who knows -the new version (D)is also
a bit of a pig for fuel consumption nowhere near what the book says, but they put that down to the newness (tightness) of the engine, should improve with usage,
