how long can someoe be in your home as a visitor and not liable to have council tax paid for ?

If your visitor doesn't fall in to these categories - you must notify the council within 21 days that another adult is living with you. This is assuming your visitor is not living elsewhere where he pays council tax.

problem is my dad moved out of his flat as my grandmother in italy became very ill so he is backwards and forwards and not with me for more than a few weeks maybe 2 months next time he gets back unless he has to shoot out there again.
all i know is I paid full wack for 2 years while it was empty now that i am a sole occupier I get 25 % off... there is at least one person in the council/goverment that need strangling
