I always thought you weren't allowed to put an S on the end of a previous word to pluralise it. I know if the new word contains an S it's okay to pluralise the other word, but just an S? all by itself??

I was challenged on this today, and self-righteously thought I was correct.. but it doesn't say you can't in the rules.

I hate being wrong! someone tell me I'm right please, preferably with some evidence. I thank you :o)

hey, that doesn't mean I'm never wrong... as my question would clearly indicate!

very constructive, thank you.
Yes, it's OK to add an S all by itself to pluralise it as far as I know. That is how we have always played it in the last 40 years or so with various other scrabble players accepting it as well. Haven't checked the rules though.

Sorry :o(
I play that you can do that and play just the S as your turn. I also will add the S on the existing word and then build from that too. I believe it is legal to play just the S as your turn. )Provided its on an existing word.)
Whats happened here then
