Hence, it is not the actual weight of a person but how the weight presents itself and how you look. I am an hour glass with a kind of J Lo behind, whilst my friend is a "grapefruit on cocktail sticks!" If you carry your weight well and feel happy with your health and appearance, then just concentrate on healthy living!
No you're not fat! - Your BMI (Body Mass Index) is 27 Which just falls outside of the 'Normal range'. So by some you could be considered as slightly overweight. As well as that you are 14 and have not stopped growing yet. - PLEASE do NOT go on a 'diet' you will screw up your metabolism and end up having trouble with your weight all your life. If you are unduly worried about your size then by all means have a look at your diet - do you eat a lot of sweets, chocs, chips? just try and cut out the fatty foods and up your intake of fruit and veg - this doesn't have to be boring - necturines, melon, strawberries anything you like. And if you don't do any exercise at school already, look at joining the net ball team or the basket ball team - again anything you like. At the weekend go out for walks with the dog/friends rather than sitting in front of the computer or tv.
I don't mean to rant - but if only i'd learnt the correct way to do it at your age rather than faddy diets, I was on slim-fast at your age - I would't have ended up with eating disorders and yo-yo dieting my whole life (I'm 30)
Best of Luck. xx
you're 14, a hell of alot can change from now onwards so the shaping out later thing is true. also you're not "that word" - weight is due to alot of things like bone structure/weight. i've got a friend who has a pretty much perfect figure and weighs around 14 stone or something like that at 16, and her weight is simply due to the fact that she has heavy bones.
don't worry about your weight just yet, things change as you get older (obviously) if you really really are getting concerned DON'T go on a diet. just eat heathily and do some exercise - brisk walks can do wonders and really aren't over exhausting!! dance is also good exercise and alot of fun :) sleep and water is also good just for your general health!!
