I'm being driven mad by my nose continually tickling. I already have hay fever (which doesn't help) but this is quite different, it's like having snuff or pepper perpetually just inside the nostril flare.
Steroidal creams etc. do nothing to alleviate it and it wakes me up at night. There's nothing discernable to see; no infection, mark or wound but I'm aware of almost continually scratching or rubbing it with a tissue to try and make the itching stop - which of course makes it ten times worse!
As a result of the itching I'm very irritable and short tempered so the effects of something so seemingly trivial as an itchy nose have quite far reaching consequences.
The condition comes and goes for no apparent reason - assuming it's an allergic reaction to something I've tried to elliminate any potential allergens.
Any help appreciated

I have similar problems, not just at this time of year but all year round (allergic to cats and couldn't turn a stray away....)
I've tried this "red light" therapy and it seems to have some effect in relieving the constant itching. you can buy the kits from chemists for about 10 (9.99 at Lloyds Chemist just now).
Good luck
It sounds as if you may have Perennial Allergic Rhinitis, which has similar symptoms as Hay fever. It's usually triggered by indoor allergens such as house dust mite, pet dander, mould spores and sometimes food allergy. Rynacrom 4% is a very good preventative nasal spray.
