A friend of mine went to a hen party  last night at a club she was standing at the bar witch was crowded she felt a pain like a pin prick in her calf she went back to her friends and when she looked it was bleeding like she had had a needle she was worried and went to first aid and they said it was nothing they decided to go home after this i have told her she should get a blood test what is your opinion?

I def. would recommend her to get it checked out with her local GP, you can never be sure these days.

Yeah I'd say the same - better to make absolutely sure, just for peace of mind!

Yep, GP called for, just for general guidance.  Night clubs etc don't want hassle at their door and will play down anything that happens in them.

The main fear is transmission of disease through a dirty needle. Sadly it can take a few months before a test can give a definitve result. I can say however (I have formally researched this specific subject) that the chance of such infection is very small in the grand scale of things (and much smaller than most people percieve) so don't worry unneccesarily. However advice should be sought and the tests run at the approrpiate time.

My friend phoned her gp and the nhs helpline and niether of them seemed to think she should worry but she is seeing her gp nonetheless your right about nightclubs they just wanted her not to make a fuss.Thanks for all the helpfull answers.
