can someone please settle an argument! I think that corn flakes are made out of the corn on the cob type of corn and rolled flat..is this right?..if not, what are they made from!?...Thanks in advance!

yes your right according to a book i own.  The corn (maize) is pressed and dired then oven toasted.
of course i mean dried not dired!

I think the confusion comes down to the fact that corn is a generic term for all things such as maize, starch, corn etc etc - cornflakes (alas) are not squished bits of sweetcorn.

Cornflakes are actually made from toasted maize.
