I am trying to trace Portuguese forebears for a friend. His grandmother was married in Lndon in 1864 and her father died in England in 1865 with his father ( John Baptista Lopes Goncalves) listed as a 'Land Owner' on his death certificate , presumably also in UK. The British trail has gone cold so does anyone have any ideas how to start looking in Portugal,? Many thanks
