U-turn at traffic lights
2 Answers
Today I was on my way to a wedding after not driving for about 6 months along an unfamiliar route. The sat nav lead me down the wrong road and I came to some traffic lights and needed to make a u-turn, when the lights were green I did a u-turn into the opposite lane, the paedestrian crossing lights were green and a man was crossing. I stopped briefly to let him cross but he stepped backwards and let me drive on. A police officer was stood opposite the road watching. I can't remember if there was a no u-turn sign. I am I going to get in trouble for this?

There has to be a prohibitory sign, or some other breach, such as passing 'no entry' sign. If the crossing light was green to you, no offence. Only if red or flashing amber or zebra crossing does ped have right of way. Only if your action endangered him would you have problem with him.
