Does spelling matter ?

We see all sorts of things like that rounds here. One example that sticks in my mind was:

"Farthers day cavery only �5"

outside a pub.

I all ways get tempted to do graffiti on the signs that say caution men at work, i all ways want put a comma after the caution!
But badly spelt signs are very common, grammar is all so terrible.
