UK laws and the Irish embassy in London

Is the Irish embassy in London bound to abide by the UK Race Relations Act and the Freedom of Information Act. Can i ask for information on the basis of these UK acts.

ROI embassy in London counts as Irish sovereign territory. So its not really bound by the laws of the host country.

HOWEVER ya remember Yvonne Fletcher who got shot outside the Libyan embassy? The police were given the (wrong) advice and told they couldnt go in? The advice was wrong -they could have under the doctrine of Hot Pursuit. Wht happened to the duty officer at the Fo who  gave the wrong advice? Opening letters in Ulan bator to this day apparently.

What about employees of the embassies? Bottle washers and so on? They will employed under the host countries current legislation, and the emabssies will pay NICs and sick pay and so on.

what about the RRA and FOI? I am not sure. Try and see, and expect a kiss-off.

However, I think the ROI very likely has similar legislation of their own, as I believe these acts were passed in this country following EU directives;  if this is correct, then other member states must have similar legislation; hence it would be a case of finding out the name of the equivalent ROI acts of parliament and then ask for info. on the basis of those.
